It has always been a privilege to serve as Chairman of this great club with a proud, long-standing history and incredible support. But never has that support been more evident than during this season.
What a season it’s been — one of the best in recent memory. In moments of triumph, with all the celebration and emotion, it's easy to focus solely on the victories and moments on the pitch. But it’s just as important to remember the incredible effort that happens behind the scenes, laying the foundation for success.
I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks to every single person who volunteers their time to make this club what it is. Our board of directors, who spend countless hours in meetings, planning, navigating challenges, budgets, and the unexpected, along with those who help with planning, preparation, and logistics, your work is essential, much of it goes unseen. And yet, without it, the successes we celebrate simply wouldn’t be possible.
This season brought milestones and achievements unlike any we’ve experienced in our 140-year history. Many of these moments would simply not have been possible without your passion, dedication, and hard work.
So, thank you to everyone who gives their time selflessly, whether organising, supporting, managing, coaching, cleaning, or helping wherever needed. You are the heartbeat of this club.
I also want to highlight one of our club's most vital parts, our Youth Section.
The growth we’ve seen across all age groups this season has been nothing short of phenomenal. Week in and week out, our young players represent the club with passion, respect, and pride, and it's clear that the club's future is in very capable hands.
This progress hasn’t happened by accident - it’s the result of outstanding coaching, dedication, and a real focus on player development. From the youngest age groups right through to our U18s, the standard of coaching has been exceptional, and the results speak for themselves, not just in terms of wins and trophies but also in the way our players conduct themselves, improve, and grow.
Thank you to every manager, coach, assistant, and volunteer who gives up their time. Your impact is immeasurable. You are building more than footballers; you are shaping confident, respectful young people who carry our club’s values wherever they go.
Our Youth Section is thriving and producing players who are beginning to make that exciting step into senior football, and that’s a testament to the hard work being done across all age groups.
Our First Team - to the management team - Jamie, Matt, Dan, Taylor, Craig, Ellis, Ada, and Carl - your efforts have been nothing short of extraordinary. Your commitment both on and off the field has been second to none.
This season began with its fair share of challenges and disappointments. But you confronted them head-on, made some tough decisions, and built a team. What followed was truly remarkable: just one defeat in the last 25 games, a play-off position secured, and a place in two cup finals, one a national competition, the FA Vase, the pinnacle at this level of football.
Amid mounting pressure, you remained resolute and professional throughout, building a team, culture, and support system that rivals any club at our level. It is an absolute pleasure working with you.
Thank you, all of you.
The journey continues, and the future is brighter than ever with people like you behind it.
