Whitstable Town Football Club are delighted to confirm that goalkeeper Dan Colmer will remain at The Belmont for the upcoming season.
Dan made his Whitstable debut in July 2024 after joining the club from Sevenoaks Town and quickly established himself as an important part of the squad during the club’s memorable FA Vase-winning campaign.
The 6ft 5 goalkeeper came through the Dartford academy system before gaining senior experience with Herne Bay, Margate and Sevenoaks Town prior to arriving at Whitstable.
Dan played a key role throughout the Vase run, most notably in the dramatic penalty shootout victory away at Walsham-le-Willows, where he produced three penalty saves to help send The Oysters through in unforgettable fashion.
A talented shot stopper with strong reflexes, Colmer continued to grow in confidence throughout the season and remains an important part of the squad heading into the new campaign.
Manager Lee Martin said:
“Dan is a goalkeeper I’ve heard a lot of good things about and after speaking with him, it was clear he’s someone we wanted to keep at the club.
“He had some big moments during the Vase run last season and showed he can handle pressure situations really well. The saves he made in that shootout were massive for the club.
“He’s still young and developing, but there’s clearly a lot of ability there and we’re looking forward to working with him this season.”
Everyone at Whitstable Town is delighted Dan will remain at The Belmont and we look forward to seeing him back in action this season.
