The draws for the early rounds of the FA competitions have now been published. Here are all of the details for Whitstable Town.
The Emirates FA Cup
747 clubs accepted
Extra Preliminary Round (Saturday 2nd August – winners receive £1,125, losers £375)
Lingfield v Whitstable Town
Preliminary Round (Saturday 16th August - winners receive £1,444, losers £481)
Edgware & Kingsbury or British Airways v Lingfield or Whitstable Town
If a match in the qualifying rounds is drawn after 90 minutes, there will be a replay.
The FA Cup draw handed Whitstable an away trip to Lingfield. The Surrey club play in the Southern Combination Football League Premier Division (Step 5) where they finished in 15th place last season. Their home ground requires some drainage work to be carried out and they played their home fixtures at Horley Town last season. The work is now scheduled for the next few months so the venue for the FA Cup tie will be confirmed shortly. The teams met at Whitstable in September 2023 for an FA Vase tie when Lingfield scored two very late goals to win 2-1.
The winners of this tie will be away to Edgware & Kingsbury or British Airways, meaning a trip to north west London, with neither club based too far from Wembley Stadium! They are both members of the Combined Counties League Premier Division North (also Step 5), where they finished 16th and 17th respectively in the 2024-25 season.
Former Isthmian League club Edgware Town folded in 2008 after losing their ground, but subsequently reformed and moved to Silver Jubilee Park in Kingsbury, the former home of Kingsbury Town. The club was renamed Edgware & Kingsbury in 2022.
British Airways Football Club dates back to 1947 when the works team played at Cranford. In more recent times, they have ground shared at Bedfont and Spelthorne Sports, but will this season play their home games at North Greenford United.
The Isuzu FA Vase
623 clubs accepted
First Round Qualifying (Saturday 23rd August - winners receive £550, losers £160)
Whitstable Town exempt
Second Round Qualifying (Saturday 20th September - winners receive £725, losers £225)
Whitstable Town exempt
There are no replays in this competition and ties will be decided by penalty kicks if the scores are level after 90 minutes, although extra time may be played in the final, if necessary.
FA Vase holders Whitstable are one of the 23 clubs exempt until the Second Round proper as a result of reaching the last 32 in the previous season, and not being moved into the FA Trophy. That round will be played on Saturday 8th November.
The FA Youth Cup
535 clubs accepted
Preliminary Round (week commencing 1st September)
Sevenoaks Town v Whitstable Town
First Round Qualifying (week commencing 15th September)
Sevenoaks Town or Whitstable Town v Ramsgate or Deal Town
If the scores are level after 90 minutes, penalties will decide the winners.
There are considerably fewer entries to this competition in 2025-26 mainly because Step 6 clubs are no longer eligible.
To be eligible for this competition in the 2025-26 season, a player must have been born on or after 1 September 2007 and before 1 September 2010.
