Whitstable Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of talented young midfielder Henry Young ahead of the new season.
Young joins the club after spending time with Margate last season, continuing his development as one of the brightest young midfielders in the area. A composed and energetic presence in the middle of the park, the 20-year-old arrives with valuable experience despite his young age.
After playing youth football at Gillingham and later at Margate, Henry subsequently joined the Dover Athletic academy where he captained the academy team to the National League Academy title and the Kent Schools Academy Cup, and they also reached the Third Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup.
Henry made a number of appearances for the Margate first team during the 2022-23 season, helping the club lift the Kent Senior Cup after assisting in the final. He signed his first senior contract with Dover for the 2023-24 season, shortly after turning 18, and established himself in the first team, making more than 30 appearances and gaining experience in senior non-league football at a young age. Henry joined Hythe Town on loan for part of the following season and then returned to Margate on dual registration in September 2025.
Comfortable both on and off the ball, Henry adds energy, intelligence and versatility to the squad and is viewed as a player with plenty of potential for the future.
Manager Lee Martin said:
“Henry is a really exciting young player and someone we believe has a massive future in the game.
“He’s already picked up some very good experience for his age and you can see the quality he has when he’s on the ball. He’s energetic, technically very good and has a great attitude to improve every day.
“We want hungry young players at this club and Henry fits exactly what we’re looking for. We’re delighted to bring him in and I’m looking forward to helping him continue his development this season.”
Everyone at Whitstable Town Football Club would like to welcome Henry to the club and we look forward to seeing him playing at The Belmont.
