...we will train and mentor you.

Whitstable Town Junior FC is a friendly, community-based club that recently celebrated its first anniversary of girls’ football. We now have two thriving girls' teams, U8s and U10s and plan to start a session for 5-7 year olds, and need some help to support the growing number of players.

We want to encourage more women to get involved with girls' football, so we will train and mentor you, as we know that many women don't have a football background or may lack the confidence to give it a try.

People skills and enthusiasm count for more than actual football experience, which can be learned 'on the job'. You will be supported and mentored by our existing (female) coaches.
Our aim is to create a positive and fun environment for girls to learn and enjoy playing football in and to encourage more women into helping out in this exciting new sport.

You'll need: to be able to build a good rapport with players and parents, an interest in girls’ football, enthusiasm, a positive outlook and a DBS check paid for by the club. No football experience necessary!

To help encourage more women into helping out with girls' football, we offer three different ways you can be involved.
You can join us at any level - Football Assistant, Assistant Coach or Coach, depending on your aptitude.

1. You can join as a Football Assistant and offer a much needed extra pair of hands to our coaches while you learn what’s involved and decide if it’s for you.

2. You can start as, or progress, to Assistant Coach once you feel ready to take the FA Level 1 coaching qualification, paid for by the club. (This may sound scary but it’s not - it’s a stimulating course offering coaching tips and advice and it will inspire you in working with young players. It’s not a pass or fail thing, it simply adds to your 'on the job' learning).

3. The next level is Coach, where you are the lead for an age group ( Level 1, paid for by the club).

All positions are voluntary but the rewards are huge - just look at those smiles in the photo! Watching the girls build their football skills, confidence and love of the game because of your input and commitment is, as the ad says, priceless.

We train on Saturday mornings, 10.30 - 11.30 , at our ground in Chestfield. Matches (when they start) will be at weekends, mainly in East Kent and will take place once a month or so.
