International Volunteers Day, Thank You

We spoke to a few club volunteers over the last week, and here's what they had to say.

Administration Volunteers -
"Whitstable Town has an amazingly supportive community and I can see how much some people put into the club so to try and help relieve some of that pressure, I volunteer to help. I enjoy being part of that and the community."

Girls Team Manager -
"I enjoy volunteering because I love to share my passion for football. I like allowing girls to play football and helping grow women's football. I love being a part of a football club, it is like being part of a huge family."

MatchDay & Administration Volunteer -
"When you first volunteer you don’t really know what to expect and how much difference you could make, but after a very short time you come to realise that through volunteering you have been inducted into the football club family. No matter how much time you spend volunteering for the club you become aware that you are one of the many cogs that make the club a success without your input the football club doesn’t grow or the club is not
sustainable. The football club becomes your club and you suffer the highs and lows that are part of non-league football as you strive to make the club the best it can be. Volunteering is very rewarding and you meet some great people and have the chance to make a real difference in the non-league football community."

Youth Coach -
"I hadn’t really thought about volunteering before, didn’t think I had the skills to offer anything, it’s a pleasant surprise to know that all the knowledge and occasional bad habits picked up on the football pitch over the years is invaluable. Teaching young kids about the game, what to do and not do, and seeing them grow and have fun makes giving up my time worthwhile."
