Everyone at Whitstable Town Football Club was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Lee Horton, a full back who made over two hundred appearances for the club in the 1990s.
Lee made his debut on 3rd March 1990 in a 0-0 draw at home to Cray Wanderers and by the end of the 1999-2000 season, his last at the club, he had played 232 games for Whitstable and scored three goals.
Whitstable were involved in four cup finals in three seasons at the start of the 1990s, three first team and one reserve team, and Lee was the only player to appear in all of them:
1989-90 Kent Senior Trophy v Sittingbourne
1989-90 Kent League Cup v Tonbridge
1991-92 Kent League Cup v Tonbridge
1991-92 Kent League Cup (Division Two) v Folkestone Invicta
We send our condolences to all of Lee’s family and friends.
