Everyone at Whitstable Town and indeed the wider football community was extremely sad to hear of the recent loss of Martin Collins, a former player with Herne Bay and Whitstable Town as well as the local Sunday team, Rising Sun.

We were keen to remember him appropriately and also raise some money for good causes. We are delighted to confirm that a charity match has now been arranged at the Belmont Ground on Friday 10th September, kick off 7.45 p.m.

Whitstable Town & Rising Sun Veterans v SE Dons XI

The local veterans’ team will contain many players who would have played with Martin and we are pleased to welcome a team from the well-known South London Sunday football club, SE Dons.

Admission will be £10 for adults and under 16s free, with the profits to be shared between two worthy causes:

The mental health charity “Head In The Game”. Head In The Game is a Community Interest Company that aims to give men in the local community the chance to come together and enjoy the beautiful game and is supported by the Kent County Council and proudly delivered alongside The Charitable Football Club, a partner of Whitstable Town.
