Oyster History Made as Brian Silk Becomes First Supporter Through New Automated Turnstiles

The first of many.

Whitstable Town Football Club is proud to mark another milestone in the modernisation of the matchday experience, as long-standing supporter Brian Silk became the first Oyster to enter the stadium using the club’s new automated turnstile system.

The new turnstiles, introduced as part of the club’s ongoing investment in facilities and supporter experience, provide faster, smoother and more secure entry using barcode-enabled tickets and season cards.

Brian’s entry through the system marked a small but significant moment in the club’s continued journey of improvement both on and off the pitch, blending tradition with modern technology while keeping supporters at the heart of everything the club does.

Director Andy Godden said:
“It felt right that one of our own, a true Oyster, was the first to use the new system. This is about improving matchdays for our supporters while future-proofing the club, and moments like this reflect the community spirit that defines Whitstable Town.”

The club would like to thank Brian and all supporters for their patience and backing as these upgrades are introduced, and looks forward to welcoming many more Oysters through the new turnstiles in the weeks ahead.
