Whitstable Town FC are delighted to announce that forward Ashdon Day has joined the club on a permanent basis following a highly successful loan spell from Dartford FC during the 2024/25 season.
Ashdon made an instant impact after arriving at the Belmont in late 2024, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in the squad during a historic campaign that saw the club reach the FA Vase Final at Wembley. His pace, work ethic and technical quality gave the Oysters an extra dimension in attack, and his return will be warmly welcomed by both the management team and supporters alike.
Manager Jamie Coyle expressed his excitement at securing the young striker’s services:
“I am delighted that Ashdon Day will be returning to our squad for the 2025/26 season as a permanent Oyster. Ashdon has a real bright future in the game and I’m looking forward to working with him again this season. He has an unbelievable desire to develop and improve, and will be a real asset to our team moving forward.”
During his loan spell, Ashdon featured regularly in both league and cup competitions, impressing with his hold-up play, intelligent movement, and relentless determination. One of his standout moments came in the FA Vase Fifth Round, where he featured in front of a record-breaking crowd of 1,121 in a 2–1 win over Fleet Town. His contributions throughout the Vase run helped the club reach Wembley Stadium for the first time in its history.
Ashdon also played a key role in several league victories, including a memorable 2–0 win away at VCD Athletic, as Whitstable continued to climb the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table in the second half of the season.
Still only 18, Ashdon is widely regarded as a player with significant potential. His decision to commit to the Oysters permanently underlines both his belief in the club’s project and the strength of the environment at the Belmont.
Everyone at Whitstable Town would like to welcome Ashdon back and wish him every success as he begins this exciting new chapter of his career with us.
Up the Oysters!
