Whitstable Town Football Club is proud to announce the launch of the Remembrance Cup – an annual fixture that will honour the memory of those connected to our club who are no longer with us.
The Remembrance Cup will not only celebrate the lives of supporters, staff, volunteers, and friends of the club but also provide a lasting legacy by raising funds for charities close to their hearts. The names of those we have sadly lost will be engraved on the base of the cup, ensuring they remain a part of our club’s story for generations to come.
Over the years, we have been humbled by the many requests to host charity matches in memory of loved ones. While it is not possible to accommodate every request individually, we want to create an inclusive way to remember and support those who have been part of the Whitstable Town FC family. The Remembrance Cup will become a special annual event where we can come together as a community, reflect, and give back.
Chairman, Steve Clayton, said:
“This is about remembering the people who have stood alongside our club — in the stands, behind the bar, volunteering, playing or in any of the countless ways they’ve supported us. We can’t run charity games for everyone, but we can make sure that those we’ve lost are never forgotten, and that their memory continues to make a difference through the charities chosen in their name.”
The inaugural Remembrance Cup will take place each year, with proceeds going to one of the charities selected by the families of the loved ones included on the cup.
