Match Preview
This will be the third meeting between Whitstable Town and Punjab United this season after Whitstable completed a league double over their Gravesend based opponents. Both games were close affairs, with the season opener at Whitstable finishing 2-1 and more recently the reverse fixture was settled by a single late goal as Whitstable closed in on the SCEFL Premier Division championship. Punjab are currently just outside the playoff positions, but with three games left to play, still have a good chance of earning an opportunity to join Whitstable in the Isthmian League next season.

The teams also share a link in the FA Vase, having both lost to finalists Cockfosters. Holders Whitstable went out in a penalty shootout in the last 16 after a 1-1 draw and Punjab then lost 3-1 on aggregate in the semi-final, having almost made it to Wembley to follow in Whitstable’s footsteps.

So, Whitstable will be looking for their fourth win in their eighth final, while Punjab will aim for their second, having scored six in their only previous appearance!

It should be a closely fought final between the two teams currently at the top of the form table. Whitstable have lost just one league match since September and Punjab have won their last five.
A big crowd is anticipated, so your support on Sunday would be much appreciated.
