Solid three points

After a week off due to a bye in the cup the U13s we’re back in action, this time at home vs Deal Town Rangers Colts.

On a blustery Whitstable started positively and had Deal under pressure from the start. Deal showed good spirit and could have taken the lead on more than one occasion playing direct route one football.

In the 18th minute another surging run on the right hand side by new boy Louie Valente resulted in a quality drilled cross. His strike partner at the time Brandon Hosking attacked the near post well and slotted home leaving the keeper no chance.

A lapse in communication at the back on the 28th minute gifted Deal an equaliser before half time and at the whistle all was even.

At half time all the players felt confident and were desperate to get back out and go again.

Whitstable came out positively in the second half and were frustrated not to score on several occasions. Just before the hour mark Louie Valente gave Whitstable the lead again when he drove the ball home after beating the last two defenders.

The game was tight right up to the end but solid quality defending kept Whitstable in front.

Whitstable won a corner in the last minute of the game and Max Morris, playing centre back today, stormed forward to volley home a quality Max Purnell corner.

Second league done and team shape and discipline was much improved all round.

A well deserved victory and 3 points on the board.
