Today the under 13s played hosts to Hawkinge Youth.
Against the wind Whitstable started brightly and were dominant from the off. The boys were defensively solid and creative going forward. Quick flowing forward play had Hawkinge under pressure throughout the first half.
Just when it looked like it would be all square at half time Ruben Hayes(once again playing his socks off) slid an inch perfect through ball for Max Morris to run onto. Max gave the keeper no chance and slotted home just before the half time whistle.
The second half saw Hawkinge come out fighting. Whitstable didn’t do themselves any favours starting like they’d already won the game.
Hawkinge were on top for the first fifteen minutes of the half until Whitstable switched on again.
In the 52 minute Mikhail Andreev played a cute pass to Zack Seery who played a quick one two with Louie Valente to give Zack a great shooting opportunity. However, unselfishly, he gave it back to Louie who drove it low and hard into the bottom corner.
Some more great defending saw Oli Shaw put in a great last ditch tackle and stand in keeper Brandon Hosking pull off several great saves.
The game was killed off in the 70th minute when Louie Valente again broke down the right and his precise cross found skipper Danny Loveridge. Dan capped a fantastic box to box performance with our third goal.
A great 3-0 win sets us up perfectly for a tough cup game next week against Dynamo.... bring it on...
