What a difference a week makes. We gathered at Radfall for an 11.30 kick off v East Kent in a reverse of the previous Saturdays fixture, this time on a crisp cold but sunny day.
The squad was hit by Matt P dropping out, get well soon. His energy and determination would certainly be missed. We started with Louis in goal, Harry and Kasper at the back. Finlay and Alfie on the flanks, Max B up top and Daley captaining the team from the centre of midfield. Flynn and Otis ready to come on from the bench.
The lads started brightly forcing East Kent back, most of the first half seemed to be played in their half and we created a lot of chances. All the boys played their part in a good half, Alfie was able to get a lot of crosses into the danger area and the East Kent keeper made some great saves. They capitalised on one of the few chances they created and we were unlucky to go in behind.
The second half we continued to battle. The players are getting adept at playing in a variety of positions and it was great to see a positive attitude from all. Daley especially worked tirelessly for the team and played a captains role, leading by example.
Unfortunately it wasn't to be our day and we looked tried towards the end. Fin pulled off a great save in the second half to tip a free kick onto the bar and Flynn had a decent shot saved at the other end.
If we continue to play with the commitment we show in training we will be a match for anyone. Well played all.
I am pleased to finally report that the cakes made welcome return this week. Thank you Hannah.
