A nice early Christmas present for the management and watching parents.

The match before Christmas saw us travel down to Ramsgate for an early kick off against Thanet United.

Most games had been called off with waterlogged pitches but sitting on a slight hill, the surface was in great condition.

We knew they were a skillful side who play some great football, so the lads needed to be at it from the off. Both teams had been hit by illness and had just 7 players each. We started with Fin in goal, Alfie and Flynn at the back, Max P in centre mid, Otis and Daylee playing wide and Max B up front.

Despite playing some good football we again found ourselves three goals down early on. We missed a few tackles and weren't getting the rub of the green.

Alfie was pushed further forward to immediate affect as he jinked his way through the Thanet defence to smash a goal back just before half time.

We regrouped and moved Max P and Otis to the back, Flynn into centre midfield, Max B right and Daylee left with Alfie up front. All the boys played an awesome second half. Finlay made some great saves, Otis and Max P were strong and positive in all their defensive duties. Max B and Daylee offered great attacking threat from wide areas and put in some great crosses. Flynn put in some great corners and Alfie ran his socks off up front. We got our rewards for the extra effort and commitment shown by the lads. Alfie scoring a second goal back before Flynn hit a free kick onto the top corner. Alfie scored two more superb efforts to take his tally in the day to four, whilst Flynn scored his own second direct from a corner.

By the end the lads got the victory they deserved and showed great sportsmanship throughout. Never let their heads drop and worked hard for each other.

A nice early Christmas present for the management and watching parents. Well done boys.
