Whitstable Town U9s v Ramsgate FC Colts

It was deju vu all over again, as Saturday morning and a waterlogged Radfall pitch resulted in another trip down to Thanet to play against Ramsgate, this time their newly promoted side. The sense of repetition was further enhanced as half of the 'new' team appear to exactly the same lads we had played the week before!

So how would our valiant Under 9's fair against the Ramsgate All Stars?

The lads knew it would be a battle. Fin was in nets, (as Louis was at his winter training camp in Dubai) the two Max's were at the back. Kasper centre mid, Isaac and Flynn wide with Alfie up front. The bench had lads waiting to come on and fight for the cause in the form of Daylee, Harry and Otis. All would play their part.

A tight match throughout, saw some fantastic teamwork and spirit as the boys battled for every ball and committed to every tackle.

Finlay made some cracked saves and the 'Maxis' stood firm to record a great clean sheet. Isaac and Flynn provided assists from crosses out wide for Max B to volley home and Kasper to score respectively. And yet again Alfie found himself on the score sheet, before switching to the back with Isaac for the last quarter. Harry and Otis put in a shift in the second half to ensure we kept them at bay. Daylee showed his usual energy but also good discipline to keep his position.

All in all a good mornings work from the lads as they showed what teamwork can do. Satisfying for Tony to see practice on the training ground coming off, with crosses leading to all the goals.
