Whitstable town v Woodpecker ladies

After a long wait, football had returned, the sun was shining and the pitch was in perfect condition. Whitstable girls under 9 hosted Woodpecker ladies. This was the return fixture from the first game of the season so we knew it was going to be a good game.
For the first period of ten minutes Whitstable started really well with a solid defensive performance from Maddie (in goal) Emily and Ayana, with Tia and Grace looking lively up front. Congratulations to Grace for scoring her first ever goal for Whitstable and what a team goal it was. It started in our penalty area where Ayana made a brilliant tackle then passed the ball to Tia, who did an inch perfect pass to Grace to score.
The second quarter Woodpecker ladies came into the game and created some good chances, but with fantastic defending and tackling by Annabel and Alys, Woodpecker were kept at bay. Dorothy also made some really good saves during the third & fourth quarter.
It was a really good team performance and everyone should be proud of their hard work and efforts. Well done girls
