Whitstable had a number of regular players unavailable for this friendly against SCEFL Division One team Forest Hill Park and had a poor start, falling behind with just 34 seconds on the clock when a shot from a tight angle on the left found its way into the net. Defensive mistakes proved costly when a low shot from the edge of the box found the bottom corner to double the Forest Hill Park advantage in the 28th minute. Josh Oliver pulled a goal back in the 39th minute, tucking away a penalty after Dean Grant was fouled in the box.

Whitstable improved in the second half, but left it late to level the scores. The visitors were reduced to ten men in the 77th minute when the referee produced a red card following a poor challenge on Ed May. Some good work by Oliver on the left of the area led to a low cross that was steered into the net by Gus Barnes to make it 2-2 in the 80th minute and that was how it stayed.

Whitstable now look forward to their first league game when Erith Town visit on Saturday.
