Certainly! Here’s a more detailed and polished version of **The Visitors: Punjab United** section, with added history, more context around past encounters, and no asterisks:
The Visitors: Punjab United
Punjab United make the trip from Gravesend with a growing reputation and an impressive rise through the non-league ranks. Founded in 2003, the club was built on strong community values and quickly gained attention for its ambition and attacking style of play.
After dominating the Kent County League in 2016–17, winning the league title and multiple cups, Punjab secured promotion to the Southern Counties East League. In 2017–18, they won Division One at the first attempt and have since become a mainstay in the Premier Division. Their proudest moment came in 2023 when they lifted the Kent Senior Trophy in style, beating Deal Town 6–0 in the final.
In recent seasons, Punjab have developed into tough, organised opposition, with a direct style and dangerous set-piece threat. Matches against Whitstable have been tight, physical affairs, often decided by fine margins.
Last season, Punjab had the edge in the early meeting at The Belmont, winning 2–1 in front of a strong crowd. But it was a different story in the return fixture, where Whitstable ran out emphatic 4–1 winners on their turf, a statement performance and one of the standout results of our campaign.
Saturday's clash is more than just an opening fixture, it’s a continuation of a fast-developing rivalry. Punjab will be looking to set the tone early and make amends for that heavy defeat, but they face a Whitstable side full of belief after lifting the 2025 FA Vase and carrying serious momentum into the new season.
Don’t Miss This!
This isn't just the start of a new season, it's a celebration of community, football, and what makes Saturdays at The Primcura Healthcare Stadium so special.
Come early. Eat well. Grab a drink. Wear your colours. Make some noise.
Let’s kick off the 2025/26 season the only way Whitstable knows how...together!
