Whitstable Town U10's v Margate FC

A hastily arranged friendly saw us travel down to Margate for a game at the Baypoint venue.

No Louis or Alfie this week, but we had the remaining 8 keen to get that first win of the season after some great recent performances. We started with Phillip in goal, he also had the captains armband for his positive attitude in training. Kasper and Max P at the back, Max B right, Isaac left, Finlay in the centre and Flynn as striker. Daylee ready to enter the fray from the bench as we rotated the team frequently. The boys started brightly and had the best of the opening moments. The break through came with a great strike from Max B, reward for his recent performances. The defence was playing well, but fair play to Margate they created and took a good chance to equalise. We continued to press and created opportunities, we got a second after good work from Isaac released Flynn to hit home. A third followed towards the end of the half as cross / shot from Finlay looped straight in.

The lads continued their high press in the second half as Daylee relentlessly hassled the opponents up front. Phillip kept a second half clean sheet and the defence marshalled brilliantly by Kasper and Max P coped with the opponents attacks. Max B and Flynn both created good chance from out wide and Finlay put in some great corners. Isaac was on fire in the second half finishing off two great moves to take our goal tally to five and give us the deserved win that the efforts deserved.

Well played to all and to Margate who played in a great spirit.
Max P got a well deserved man of the match for his all action performance.
