Whitstable Town U11's v Margate Youth

Sunday after saw us take a drive down to play Margate at the Baypoint venue. After our thumping defat against these opponents in pre-season we hoped we could find a winning vaccine at the former Pfizer ground.

Both teams were down bones of 9 players. A late switch before the kick off saw Finlay step into goal for Phil. He had a great game sweeping upwell and was thanked by the whole team for stepping in late on. Phil, Max P and Rufus formed the back three, Kasper and Isaac in the centre midfield. Daylee right, Max B left and Oscar up front.

Despite a strong start we found ourselves a goal down at half time, this was doubled shortly into the second half, would we crumble to another big defeat? No we wouldn't, the lads rolled up their sleeves and got themselves back into the game. The first goal back came when Max P leapt into the air and placed a bullet header into the net from Max B's perfectly flighted corner.

As we pushed for an equaliser, great work by Oscar saw him flick the ball forward whilst being on the floor, it fell to Max P. A perfectly jabbed shot drive flew into the bottom corner, a fantastic brace for Max P and we were back on level terms. The crowd certainly enjoyed that second dose of Max P scoring! Having not scored for 3 years, Max's P exploits in front of goal, are now going viral!

Unfortunately the ref wasn't immune to making errors and ultimately a late controversial penalty meant we left empty handed but the lads had battled well and deserved something from the game.
