After our previous game had to be postponed as a result of the 40c heatwave, Monday saw us host Range Rovers of Sheppey. After beating us 10-0 earlier in the season, it was always going to be a difficult game and one which would show how far we had come in our quest for improvement. We set ourselves the goal of not conceding early and thanks to some fine goalkeeping managed to hold on at 0-0 until about 5 minutes before half time when once again we had a mini collapse, thanks in part to an unfortunate own goal by one of our own. We came out in the second half in front of Steve Clayton, our club chairman, with our heads held high and only lost the second half 2-0, again thanks to some important saves from our goalkeeper, Paul Valente, who was nominated by his fellow team mates as man of the match. The final score was 6-0, although we did have two or three scoring opportunities and once again luck deserted us.
On to the next game, COYR
