WOODNESBOROUGH REDS 4 WHITSTABLE TOWN 0
Kent FA Walking Football League 60+ East
Friday 13 October 2023
Well what is to be said... We took our squad down to Woodnesborough Reds on Friday night and once again our luck deserted us. We make a mistake and it results in a goal and when the opposition make a mistake we can't capitalise and so it proved on Friday. We lost 4-0, with three goals conceded in the first half. One goal was scored when our keeper was asking the referee to wait until he was ready, the second was a defensive mistake that took a deflection and went through both the defender and keeper's legs and the third was a good finish into the far corner of the goal off the post. In the the second half, when we pressed them harder than they had been pressed in the first, we created chance after chance and then, when we eventually scored what we all thought was a legitimate goal by Alan, it was disallowed for running. We eventually went down 4-0 just before the heavens opened.
We are full of confidence going into Monday's game, which kicks off at 8pm at the Belmont. Before we prepare for the game myself and the whole of the walking football set up wish Derek Monks a speedy recovery from his foot injury.
