Whitstable Town U12 Whites 13 – 0 Broadstairs Town

Whitstable Town U12 Whites kicked off their Faversham League campaign in style with a dominant 13–0 victory over Broadstairs Town. It was a remarkable start for a side that won just once in 29 matches last season before making the move from the East Kent League.

With Edward away at an athletics meet, every other player was available, and the squad made full use of the opportunity to showcase their progress.

First Half

Despite their control of possession, Whitstable had to be patient in breaking down a Broadstairs side who defended deep with numbers behind the ball. Will Stevens had a couple of early efforts, Joshua shot just wide, and Louie struck the woodwork before the breakthrough finally came in the 13th minute. Stevens converted after being set up by Joshua to make it 1–0.

From there, confidence grew. Stevens doubled the lead on 25 minutes after good work from Joel, before completing his hat-trick and adding a fourth with two composed finishes, the second assisted by George.

Gabriel was then brought down in the box and calmly slotted home the resulting penalty to make it 5–0.

Whitstable continued to dominate, with Joel showing composure in possession, Joshua pulling the strings in midfield, and Gabe’s crosses causing problems throughout. At half-time, the home side were firmly in control.

Second Half

Changes were made after the break, with George, Will Stevens, and Joshua coming off, but the goals kept flowing. Will Shooter was quickest to a rebound to grab his first before Jack U produced a stunning strike, firing in off the bar from the right-hand side for 7–0.

Louie, who had been threatening all afternoon, finally got his reward with a crisp finish from the edge of the box, before linking with Shooter, who added his second and third goals of the match in quick succession.

George returned to the scoresheet with a well-taken effort before Shooter netted his fourth, this time assisted by Jack H. The final goal fell to Ellis, who enjoyed a rare run up front and made no mistake to round off the scoring at 13–0.

Both Will Stevens and Will Shooter finished with four goals apiece, while Louie, Gabriel, George, Jack U, and Ellis all contributed to the tally. Joshua was instrumental in midfield, orchestrating play with intelligence and unselfishness, while Joel impressed with his composure both in attack and defence.

Gabriel, one of the team’s new signings, earned the coaches’ Player of the Match vote for his tireless work rate, creativity, and selfless play, but in truth there were outstanding performances across the pitch.

Final Thoughts

This emphatic win was a clear sign of how far Whitstable have come since last season. Tougher challenges lie ahead, but this was a performance full of confidence, teamwork, and attacking flair — an excellent way to begin the new campaign.
