Whitstable Town U11s v Rising Stars FC

Sunday, 14th November and we make our way,
A short hop to Canterbury, for our Match of a Day,
Archibishops school we arrive in our collective of cars,
Prepared and ready to face the Rising Stars.

We know it'll be tough and they know the same,
Both teams need to be on top of their game.
Phil back in goal to save their attacks,
A defence of Kasper, Rufus and Max.

A five man midfield and no striker you see,
Flynn, Daylee, Isaac, Oscar and Alfie.
Otis is ready as well to enter the fray,
How will the game go, will it be our day?

From the moment the refs whistle blows,
The Risers attack, cross and in the goal the ball goes
We fight back and a good pass is met,
By Max B on the volley, smashed into the net!

We take the lead after another nice move,
Finished by Isaac's left foot, hit so smooth,
The Risers respond and equalise,
But we get a third, Flynn shoots, in it flies!

We lead at half time, all the lads have worked well,
Can we keep it going, only time will tell.
Alas second half, a pen we concede,
They score and our supporters are down on their knees

We let in another and defeat edges near,
But Issac shoots, and all our fans cheers.
A goal at the end and the game is a draw,
The least we deserved, although we all wanted more.

A fantastic display full of skill and grit from the start,
Such an enjoyable match, the team all played with heart.
On behalf of the coaches, parents and all of the crowd,
Well done boys, you all made us proud!
