“He was one of the players identified by our scouting and recruitment team towards the back end of last season and we’ve worked really hard to bring him to Whitstable Town. We felt he was exactly the type of player we wanted to add to the group and we’re delighted to have got the deal done.
“He had an excellent season with Barking and was instrumental in their success. He’s a proper central midfielder who brings energy, physicality and quality on the ball.
“Charlie is a strong, dominant ball carrier who can drive us up the pitch, compete physically and break up play when needed. He’s aggressive in the tackle, has a very good range of passing and possesses the engine to get around the pitch all game.
“We believe he’s got all the attributes to make the step up to Step 4 football and he’s a player we think will really excite our supporters. We’re looking forward to seeing him in a Whitstable shirt.”
